Tonse Alliance led government has responded to former Head of State Peter Mutharika’s assertions that it has failed to deliver to Malawians.

Yesterday, Mutharika held a press briefing at his retirement home in Mangochi where he sad despite clocking one year in office, Tonse Alliance which is being led by President Lazarus Chakwera has done nothing to Malawians.

According to Mutharika things are way much harder in this administration as cost of living keeps going up, hence calling for Chakwera to act fast adding that Malawians are suffering.

Responding to Mutharika’s remarks, Gospel Kazako, government spokesperson has trashed Mutharika saying what he said is untrue.

According to Kazako, President Chakwera has managed to do a lot of things in a space of one year citing the Affordable Input Program as one of the examples.

“Had it been Mutharika was honest enough he could have mentioned that the country has surplus food under the leadership of Dr Chakwera through AIP.  This administration has managed to pass other legislation in Parliament that have been infringing Malawians for a long time but Mutharika has chosen to skip those issues deliberately,”

The former President who is also a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader told the media that he respects the Presidency and is ready to offer his support if he is approached to do so.
