A 35-year-old man in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh allegedly murdered his 32-year-old wife and 65-year-old father, reportedly after spotting them in an objectionable position.
The accused has been identified as Santosh Lodhi, a resident of Gokalahar village within the jurisdiction of Balkheda police station in Jabalpur. He allegedly hacked his father Aman Lodhi and wife Kavita to death with an axe at their house on Friday night.
A police team, after being alerted by a relative, came rushing to the spot. The accused was sitting at the doorstep of his house, while the bodies of the victims were lying in a pool of blood inside a room. The police retrieved the bodies for postmortem examination and arrested the accused under relevant sections, according to a report published by The Times of India.
The accused, during questioning, told the police that he had spotted his father and wife in a compromising position at their house. Enraged over this, he attacked them with an axe, leading to injuries that resulted in their death.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, additional superintendent of police (Rural) SS Baghel. Further probe is underway, he added.
