Minister of Education, Agnes NyaLonje says she is optimistic of improved performance by learners in Mathematics following the launch of National Numeracy Programme (NPP).
The programme which is said to run in the country  for  four years and it is  funded by the UK Aid.
The programme is being launched at Malawi Institute of Education in Zomba and its  aim  is to improve student  in learning outcomes in Mathematics.
Among other activities, the programme will include revising the mathematics curriculum for standard one to four.
Also in attendance at the official launch of the programme is British Commissioner to Malawi David Beer.
