Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has said the party has no funds to hold an emergency convention to replace positions of the party’s Vice President for South Mohammad Sidik Mia.
Earlier this month, reports were all over social media claiming that the party is contemplating of holding an emergency convention to fill some vacant posts in the party.
Such vacant posts include that of the Vice President in the South and director of research held by late Belekanyama.
But Speaking in an interview with the press, MCP spokesperson Maurice Munthali said the party has no money at the moment.
Munthali however said central committee of the party is strategizing on how best to fill the position saying such positions are supposed to be filled at a convention.
He said the positions were supposed to be filled within ninety days.
Meanwhile it is not known as to who will replace Mia.
