Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has said schools in the country will remained opened despite that government has introduced new measures of containing the spread of Coronavirus.
Khumbize Chiponda was speaking Yesterday in Lilongwe during a media briefing on Covid-19 situation in the country.
According to the Minister, parents however will not be allowed to visit the children who are in boarding schools.
She therefore retaliated that school managements must ensure that schools are disinfected and that teachers and students are wearing face masks all the time.
Adding to that if at all the school has positive case, school administration is encouraged to ensure that they are isolated and if a school is hit with more Covid-19 cases, it will be closed for 2 weeks for disinfection and other processes.
Last year, the country’s school calendar was disrupted due to the global pandemic which devastated the country and led to closure of schools.
