Nine People Escape From Police Cell At Kafukule In Mzimba

Police in Mzimba have mounted a man hunt for 9 people alleged to have bolted from police cells at Kafukule police post on Thursday where they were being kept after committing various offences.

According to a police communique we have seen, two of the escapees were murder suspects, two were defilement suspects and the rest were being kept for theft offenses.

Its alleged that the officer on duty was drunk and had opened the cells took one defilement suspect who wanted to drink water to his home a thing which made it possible for the others to escape.
