The consecration of bishop-elect Fr. Peter Adrian Chifukwa of Dedza Diocese has been postponed from 31 July 2021 to 28 August 2021.
This is due to a surge in coronavirus cases in the country which as claimed over 1000 lives.
A statement signed by Diocesan Administrator for the diocese, Fr. John Chithonje, says mass for the consecration ceremony will still take place at Bembeke Cathedral parish.
The diocese is asking Malawians to continue observing all Covid-19 preventive measures.
President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will grace the ceremony.
