Leader of Opposition in the August House Kondwani Nankhumwa has described the demise of Nkhotakota North Eats Legislature Martha Lunji as tragic and heavy blow.

Lunji who was also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) chief whip in Parliamentary passed on last night at Kamuzu Central Hospital at Covid-19 isolation ward.

According to Nankhumwa who is also DPP’s vice president for the south said  the tragedy comes when opposition needs unity of purpose.

Lunji served as minister of labor under former president Peter Mutharika administration.

Her remains will be laid to rest in Matelezi Village, Senior Chief Kanyenda in Nkhotakota.
