Six people have been arrested at Mponera Trading Centre in Dowa District during a sweeping exercise.

Mponela Police publicist, MacPatson Msadala has confirmed the arrested of six suspects.

Macpatson has said that the suspects have been arrested for various offences and are of the ages of 18 to 53.

He said some of the suspects have been charged with unlawful wounding, theft, idle and disorderly conduct, among others.

The suspects are expected to appear before court soon to answer the charges levelled against them.
