Association of Persons with Albinism (APAM) President Ian Desmond Simbota has been reinstated at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), faceofmalawi can reveal.

Simbota was fired from MBC when he expressed dissatisfaction over the manner President Mutharika and his government was handling the killings of people with albinism.

The firing of Simbota attracted mixed reactions with many attacking the then Director General of MBC Aubrey Sumbuleta of being used by DPP.

After the change of government on June 23, 202, the Malawi Human Rights Commission instituted in investigations on the matter and the outcome of the inquiry recommended that MBC should reinstate all the former employees who were fired by Sumbuleta.

The report also led to the arrest of Sumbuleta who is currently answering charges of sexually harassing female employees at MBC.
Meanwhile Malawians have taken to social media to congratulate Simbota for being reinstated at MBC.

Orama Namalomba wrote: “My brother Ian Desmond Simbota has been reinstated at MBC – now with Radio 2.

“He was dismissed by that Embattled Sumbuleta guy who is answering Sumbu issues. Imagine that security man who shot Blessings Nyondo, Mr Chanunkha, ati mpaka had given instructions kuti Ian and Chawezi Banda shud never be allowed in the MBC premises……panopa chanunkhayo ndi nzake Sumbuleta are all answering serious cases and jobless!
