University of Malawi Covid-19 Emergency Response team is lobbying for the immediate suspension of operations at the college as positive cases increase.

In a situation report addressed to the management, one of the emergency team members Dylo Pemba said the situation is becoming unmanageable.

According to Pemba, currently there are 100 students that have tested positive to the virus.

This, is despite the adoption of online learning which was introduced few weeks ago at the institution to control the spread of the virus.

Pemba raises concern that although there is the online learning system, but the students’ life remains unrestricted at their respective places of accommodation.
