The Malawi Judiciary has ordered the temporary closure of Chichiri Court premises in Blantyre on Covid grounds.

Registrar of the High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal Gladys Gondwe has confirmed the development in a statement while disclosing that the closure is to pave way for fumigation by health authorities.

According to Gondwe, the court premises will remain closed for 3 days from today, to resume operation on 22 July.

However, the court has left room for handling urgent matters, which will be done virtually.
