ZAMBVIA – A Retired teacher is appearing before the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court for allegedly burning her tenant with hot porridge when she went to demand that he vacates the house for failing to pay K90 rent balance.

The incident happened on June 29 this year when Rebecca Mwansa, 65, of John Laing, went to her tenant’s house where she tossed the door open to check if Bwalya Malekani had vacated the K300 rented house.

After Mwansa opened the door, it hit into a brazier on which Mr Malekani’s wife was cooking some porridge.

The pot fell and the hot porridge landed on Mr Malekani’s foot leaving him with wound burns.
