Stacy and Babajide, who live in Lagos, Nigeria, have three children together. Their twin boys become a phenomenon when they were born with two different skin colors.

Twins with different skin tones?

One baby has the same dark skin color as his parents while the other is ruddy white. Daniel and David are twins who were born just minutes apart.

Daniel has dark skin and curly hair like his now 7-year-old older sister Damilade. David, on another hand, has white skin, blond hair.

Stacy shared the unique story of two sons on Instagram, attracting the attention of many netizens.

“It was a massive surprise,” she shared.

“I HAVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ALL THE TIME WHEN WE ARE OUT. PEOPLE SAY ‘EXCUSE ME MADAM, WHICH ONE OF THE KIDS IS YOURS?’

“I JUST SAY BOTH OF THEM ARE MINE AND PEOPLE LOOK AT ME AS IF I AM JOKING. BUT I WAS SURPRISED TOO WHEN THEY WERE BORN, EVEN AS THEIR MUM.”

According to doctors, the reason for the phenomenon of these twins with different skin colors is because David has albinism. This is a rare case as there is only one among 20,000 new cases that has this genetic condition.

Albinism is an inherited condition caused by a lack of the pigment melanin forming in the skin, hair, and eyes. It occurs in all ethnic and racial groups with the degree of pigmentation that can vary depending on its type.

Luckily, the boys are loved

According to BoredPanda, there are more than 2 million people with albinism living in Nigeria. This number is among the highest in the world. However, in Nigeria, more than 600,000 people with albinism suffer from discrimination from society.

Mother of three Stacy shared that the family has not received any negative comments around. Both boys received love from everyone and that’s a true blessing.

Daniel and David were born in February 2019. Currently, the two children are more than 2 years old.
