Information reaching this publication indicates that Sheriffs on Wednesday morning invaded Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (Escom) offices in Mzuzu and impounded some properties.

The development follows failure by the state owned company to compensate former employees as order by the Courts in the country.

According to information at hand, Sheriffs have seized computers and furniture worthy millions.

The office has since been closed and customers in need of prepaid units are being referred to other outlets.

Effort to talk to ESCOM spokesperson on the matter proved futile.
