Ministry of Health has announced that 192, 000 doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine  which failed to be in the country last week Thursday, will now arrive on Saturday, July 24.

Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Charles Mwansambo confirmed of the development.

According to Mwansambo, additional 119 200 AstraZeneca doses are expected to arrive in the country before end July while 302 400 doses of Johnson & Johnson ( J & J) vaccine will arrive within the next two weeks.

Further, 360 000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines are scheduled to arrive end August or early September while 372 000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will arrive before end September.

Malawi currently is experiencing a surge in Coronaviruses cases with each passing day registering high numbers.

The development has forced the Malawi Police to start enforcing Covid-19 rules and regulations seriously following the introduction of operation vala mask.

Over 200 people have been arrested in the country for their failure to wear face masks.
