Spouse to the Country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima, Mary is not among over 10 delegates that will accompany President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to United Kingdom (UK) to attend the Education Summit.
This is despite her being one of the keynote speakers at the event which will be co-hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya.
Instead Chilima’s wife will attend the Education Summit Virtually.
Mary has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on her official facebook page seen by this publication.
“Educating vulnerable girls requires a joint approach. Truly honoured to be a virtual participant through Plan International Malawi. #GES2021,” reads in part the statement.
