The Alwar police arrested a 23-year-old domestic help on Tuesday for allegedly abducting her employer’s three-year-old daughter. The accused allegedly kidnapped the toddler from her employer’s residence in Patel Nagar, Central Delhi.
During the investigation, the cops learned that the woman had a heated argument with her employer over salary issues and the latter threatened to fire her. Following this, the woman allegedly kidnapped her employer’s child.
The incident came to light on Monday evening when the mother of the toddler, who works at a garment export firm, lodged a complaint against her domestic help. The woman told the police that she had threatened to sack the accused after she demanded a salary increment.
Moreover, the woman alleged that in the afternoon, while she was working from home, her domestic help took her three-year-old daughter for a stroll but did not return. “When she started calling her, the domestic help demanded Rs 45,000 and threatened to kill the child if she informed police,” added the woman.
Soon after being alerted, the police lodged an FIR and examined the CCTV camera installed in the locality, The Times of Indiareported. In the footage, the accused could be seen taking the child with her. “With the help of technical surveillance, police found her location in Alwar and police coordinated with SSP Bhiwadi, SSP Alwar and SSP Sikar,” an officer said.
Following this, the Delhi Police coordinated with the Alwar police and shared the toddler’s picture with them. Consequently, a team of SSP Bhiwadi nabbed the domestic help at one of the police barricades. The child was safely rescued by the police and reunited with her parents. Subsequently, the accused was arrested and an FIR was lodged against her under section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
