Police in Phalombe are keeping in custody their fellow police officer for conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
Phalombe Police Station Public Relations Officer, Jimmy Kapanja, identified the suspect as Ross Ntolongo, 29, of Ntolongo Village, Traditional Authority Tengani in Nsanje District.
Kapanja said the suspect had been drinking beer within Phalombe and on his way back from the bottlestore, he found the victim, a boy with Albinism, playing with his friends.
The suspect then hooked the neck of the child with his right hand and picked him.
Ntolongo will appear soon in court.
