State Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima on Tuesday held at audience with Nigeria’s Ambassador to Malawi Her Excellency Zahra Muazu Omar.
The two discussed a number of issues affecting the nations especially regarding the bilateral relationship.
Chilima confirmed of the meeting in a statement posted on his official facebook seen by this publication.
“This morning I had the honour of hosting Her Excellency Zahra Muazu Omar, High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Malawi who paid me a courtesy call to discuss a number of issues pertaining to our two countries.
“I took the opportunity to congratulate Her Excellency on her appointment and presentation of Letters of Credence on 5th July, 2021 to His Excellency Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi,” wrote Chilima.
He added: “Among other issues, we both expressed optimism that the existing cooperation between Abuja and Lilongwe will continue to flourish to cover areas of mutual benefit including Trade and Investment beyond our bilateral, regional, and international relations.”
Chilima is currently the Acting President as President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is in United Kingdom (UK) for Education Summit.
