Although Madeline Delp can’t stand on her legs, she has participated in many beauty contests.
Then, her effort brought her a sweet fruit. She has won the 2nd runner-up prize in the Miss Virginia USA 2021 – one of the five biggest beauty contests in the US.
Woman In Wheelchair Won A Beauty Contest
Madeline Delp is 26 years old now. 16 years ago, she was involved in a car accident. Then, she got leg paralysis and couldn’t stand again. The doctor said Madeline had to live in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
However, the young girl didn’t get down. She has remained her optimistic spirit since then. Madeline always loves herself and she wants to participate in beauty contests because of a question. A little girl asked Madeline whether a woman on wheelchairs like them could compete in US Beauty Contests.
The question made her heartbroken at that time. She couldn’t answer it right away. But after many years of trying to overcome the feeling of inferiority complex, she decided to participate in beauty contests as a representative of disabled women. Madeline wants to prove that they are still beautiful and excellent in many fields.
She has won the crown in many beauty contests, such as Miss Wheelchair USA 2016 and Queen Beauty Alaska 2019. She wished to win the crown of Miss USA – the biggest beauty contest in the USA.
To get closer to her dream, the young beautiful girl applied for Miss North Carolina – the local beauty contest in her hometown. She completed all the challenges like other contestants. Although she couldn’t catwalk, the woman in the wheelchair still got the spotlight with her charming body shape and beautiful face.
She got qualified for the top 15 in 2019 and top 10 in 2020. Madeline has also won the title of Miss Friendly twice. In 2021’s participation, she became the first disabled contestant to be qualified for the top 5 in State’s beauty contest.
Madeline continued to take part in Miss Virginia and won the prize for the 2nd Runner-up. The beautiful woman said she wanted to spread the motivation to people with differences.
Despite the difficulty in moving, she still loves traveling. The brave and bewitching woman has visited many countries in the world. She also loves gyms and sports.
