President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday held bilateral talks with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The bilateral talks centre in areas of climate change, girls’ education, and trade.
This was confirmed in a statement posted on Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation facebook page seen by this publication.
“President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday held bilateral talks with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including the special relationship between two countries and the desire to see their partnership grow in areas of climate change, girls’ education, and trade.
“The Prime Minister also expressed both his joy at seeing the Malawi leader and his desire to cement a Malawi-UK partnership to leverage green technologies in Malawi. The two leaders have agreed to discuss this further when they meet again at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland in November,” reads in part the statement.
Chakwera is in UK for Education Summit co-hosted by Boris Johnson and Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya.
