Deputy Minister of Local Government, Halima Daudi has ordered that all shop owners in Blantyre should have dustbins outside their shops to make the Blantyre City clean.
Daudi has also ordered Blantyre City Council director of health Emmanuel Kanjunjunju to monitor and ensure that shop owners are complying with the order.
She made the remarks during an interface meeting with BCC executives which is currently underway at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre.
Earlier in the meeting, Daudi asked the council the status of the red star campaign.
In his response BCC director of legal and management services, Mphatso Matandika said the council is just waiting for the court to deliver the judgment saying the hearing was concluded in 2016.
