State Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima has expressed shock over the untimely death of well-known Actor Eric Mabedi, popularly known as Jacob in the comedy circles.
Mabedi died of COVID-19 this morning at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital in Blantyre.
Writing on his official facebook page Chilima said he is saddened with the passing of the popular actor.
“Jacob, you are gone ; leaving the nation in deep sorrow. While you and your brother late Izeki (John Nyanga) walked the face of the earth, you made our hearts happy with laughter.
“But now you must go and join John; heaven celebrates. May God accord you an eternal peaceful rest,” wrote chilima.
He added: “Our prayers are to your family, your friends, the creative/artistic arts fraternity and the entire nation; on the loss of such amazing talent and compatriot.”
The body of Mabedi will be laid to rest on Tuesday at CI Cemetery.
Mebedi is survived by a wife and two Children.
