The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has resolved that only staff that are vaccinated against COVID-19 should be coming to the office.
“All those not vaccinated have been advised to stay home and come when vaccinated. This has been made in the best interest of the employees because there are many benefits of getting vaccinated,” says MEC Director of Communication, Sangwani Mwafulirwa.
He said MEC has reached for this decision following mass screening in July which result in 13 of its officers testing positive to COVID-19.
‘We were fortunate that no one was hospitalised and all have been discharged,” added Mwafulirwa.
