Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)Nkhatabay Central member of Parliament, Symon Vuwa Kaunda, is demanding K600 million from the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) as compensation.
The newly-elected MP claim that he suffered economic, physical and psychological loss by going to the polls twice.
Vuwa said the 2019 election was nullified because of MEC’s negligence, causing him what he calls ‘trauma’.
He has since given MEC two weeks to pay or be taken to court.
MEC is yet to comment on the matter.
