Disgruntled members of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has called on president Lazarus Chakwera to admit that he goofed for appointing his friends into key positions of the State House.

The call has been made following the arrest and firing of president Lazarus Chakwera’s advisor on special duties pastor Martin Thom for alleged playing a role in smuggling an authorized bill into parliament.

The concerned members have also advised president Chakwera to do a major shake up at State House and not to wait for another embarrassment.

“The president has access luggage in his advisors, dead wood in cabinet and we need reshuffle now. We need MCP loyalists to advise our leader,” said the group spokesperson, Alex Major.

The grouping also asked President Chakwera to act on his executive assistant and State House’s director of communication Sean Kampondeni whom they said he is giving the president ill advise.

The group also demanded the same for Chris Kapondamgaga who is State House’s Chief of staff.

However, on Kampondeni, Chakwera has already said that he cannot let him down now considering that he has worked with him for more tan 7 years.

“We commend the president for diplomatically dismissing his press secretary Brian Banda who was another excess baggage at State House,” adds the statement.
