Death has been announced of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor Daniel Joseph of Chimwalire ward in Balaka South Constituency.
Joseph is said to have died in road accident on Wednesday evening.
Balaka district council spokesperson Mary Mwakhringa has confirmed and says burial arrangements will be communicated later.
