Mom shoots son to death after he argued with sister over a stolen phone

South Africa Police are investigating a murder case after a mother in the Eastern Cape shot and killed her son on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Captain Nkosikho Mzuku said a 45-year-old mother fatally shot her son in Slovo Park informal Settlement, NU 6, Mdantsane on Wednesday at about 13:30.
“It is alleged that the 24-year-old son argued with his sister after she accused him of stealing her cellphone.
Mzuku said the siblings fought, and the son assaulted his sister with a wheel spanner.
The mother took her boyfriend’s firearm and fatally shot her son.
“Police are investigating murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.”
Mzuku said the circumstances surrounding the incident forms part of the investigation.
The mother is due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
