The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter has expressed shock over the death of former Montfort Media Editor Patrick Bwanali.
Bwanali died at Balaka District Hospital Covid-19 Isolation Centre in the morning of Monday, August 9, 2021.
“The media fraternity in Malawi will greatly miss Bwanali’s passion for the sector and his love towards journalists of all generations.
“Our condolences go to the Bwanali family, Montfort Media and the media fraternity,” said MISA Malawi Chairperson Teresa Temweka Ndanga.
He worked with the Catholic-owned Montfort Media in Balaka for 12 years, between 1999 and 2011, rising to the post of Sub-Editor for the popular Together Youth Magazine before joining Andiamo Education Institutions.
During his time at both Montfort Media and Andiamo, Bwanali worked hard and used his writing and management skills to promote and develop young people.
He was also actively involved in charity work and served as Chairperson for Friends of Balaka District Hospital.
Bwanali was born on March 15, 1976.
