Malawi is scheduled to receive 119 040 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine this coming Saturday.
Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda who is also Co-chair of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 confirmed of the development in a statement posted on her official facebook page.
According to Chiponda, the plane carrying the doses is expected to land at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at around 2pm.
“119 040 doses of Astrazeneca jets in this Saturday 14.08.21,” wrote Chiponda.
Last week the country also received Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines and the country has since rolled out the administration of the said vaccine.
Meanwhile, government has urged Malawians to continue adhering to COVID-19 measures.
