The Incumbent President of Zambia, Edgar Chagwa Lungu has said he is going to win the ongoing presidential election.
Lungu was speaking to the media after he cast his vote early today.
“We are winning, otherwise I wouldn’t have been in the race if we were not winning,” said Lungu.
Lungu who is standing on the ticket of Patriotic Front (PF) is facing 15 other presidential aspirants including his main rival Hakainde Hichilema of the United Party for National Development (UPND).
The country’s electoral commission has said it will announce the results of the elections within 72 hours.
The vote is coming amid a worsening economy with the youth demanding better prospects including more job opportunities.
Nigerian Prophet Joshua Ignila has however prophesied that Lungu will not be reelected as Zambian president as he said Hichilema will take over.
According to the prophet, the will of God will not be bent.
