The newly elected Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema held a cordial meeting with his successor Edgar Chagwa Lungu yesterday at the House of Rupiah Banda who served as the country’s fourth president.
According to Hichilema, African Union Chief election Observer, former Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Korima and Commonwealth Chief Observer, Former Tanzanian Presidnet Jakaya Kikwete were alo present at the cordial meeting.
“The meeting centered around the betterment of our country and its future,” Said Hichilema, adding that his government will remain committed to ensuring a united and developed Zambia for all.
“We will endeavor to work round the clock and indeed ensure a country everyone can call home because what divides us is smaller than our Country’s aspirations,” he added.
He therefore thanked his successor, and the rest of the former presidents for showing that Africa is indeed blessed.
