Police in Lilongwe have arrested a Chinese national Bin Liu for being found in possession of ivory and seven rifles at his compound in the affluent suburb of Area 47 in the capital city.
Reports indicate the police officers managed to trace the items using their investigative skills as they have been trailing the suspect for several months.
The illegal items were found after the police, accompanied by wildlife officials and sniffer dogs, conducted a search around the house of the Chinese National at area 47 in the capital Lilongwe.
Meanwhile, the suspect is at Lilongwe police station for further questioning.
During interrogation, the suspect claimed to be a hunter and he uses the state of the art rifles for hunting.
