Chris Chisoni has been fired as Executive Director for the Higher Education Students Loans and Grants (HESLGB) with immediate effect.

HESLGB statement says their investigations showed that Chisoni was appointed without interviews; which is against the HESLGB Act.

It adds the process of renewing his contract was irregular as this was done eight months before its expiry contrary to the Malawi Public Service procedures and standard practices.

Chisoni is yet comment on the matter.
