The Chief Resident Magistrate Court in Zomba has deferred the exams leakage case to Friday next week after some defence lawyers in the case did not get new charge sheets on time.
The case, brought by the State, is against former Malawi National Examination Board (Maneb) executive director, Gerald Chiunda, the board’s Head of Security, Owen Khuntho, Chief Examinations Development Officer, Ishmael Faki and Chief Examinations Security Officer Joseph Chilombe.
Chief Resident Magistrate Austin Banda has adjourned the matter to September 03, 2021 when the court is expected to hear the application by the defence that seeks fresh amendment of the charges.
