State House Director of Communications Sean Kampondeni has described it as unfair to accuse President Lazarus Chakwera of failing to honor his promise on cabinet reshuffle.

Kampondeni expressed the concern today when he addressed the media during the weekly press briefing at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.

He therefore hinted that president Chakwera has finished assessing the performance of cabinet ministers as per his last year’s promise.

Kampondeni then called for the general public to remain patient on president Chakwera as he will in due course do the reshuffle.

He added that Chakwera has opted to have a thorough review of his cabinet as he stated in July.

According to Kampondeni, Chakwera knows the best time to make cabinet changes due to various issues as he also has the prerogative to do so.

He says it is always the best time, when he makes ministerial changes.

The comments come as the Public Affairs Committee and Consumers Association of Malawi have demanded a lean cabinet.
