First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Madalitso Kazombo has said he is saddened with the untimely death of Independent Member of Parliament for Member of Parliament for Mzimba East, Wezi Gondwe.

Gondwe died of liver complications this morning in South Africa.

Writing on his official facebook page Kazombo called on Malawians to prayer for MPs.

“Go ye well Hon Wezi Gondwe, Mzimba East. You nominated me to be the Deputy Speaker amidst all odds. You came on an Independent Member of Parliament ticket.

“Special prayers needed for Parliament of Malawi, your leaders are dying, your sons and daughters are going. We have been losing key people on the land. God have mercy. If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves, repent their sins, and pray, then I shall hear from Heaven and heal their land. May we join hands and pray for our leaders. There is a strong spirit of death that needs to be stopped. Its very important that churches and all brethren pray,” wrote Kazombo.

Meanwhile the funeral programe is not yet known at the moment.
