MCP candidate for by-elections in Dedza Central East Constituency, Joshua Malango, has today donated 15 mattresses, 30 blankets and a delivery bed at Kaphuka Health Centre.
Until now, pregnant women admitted to the health centre have been sleeping on the cold floor due to lack of mattresses and linen.
Malango says that there is also shortage of bathrooms and toilets at the facility and that he is constructing some to ease the problem.
In-charge of Kaphuka Health Centre, Yamikani Kapesi, says the facility has a catchment area of atleast 34, 000 people.
She was thankful for the donated items. The vacancy in Dedza Central East Constituency follows the death of MacStain Nkomba.
