One person has died and eight others have sustained injuries in a car accident at Chigona Village in Neno District.
Neno Police spokesperson Austin Kamwendo has identified the deceased as Elida Ntchentche, 67.
Kamwendo said the accident involved a Nissan Vannet minibus registration number BY 8231 which was heading to Blantyre with 15 passengers on board.
The driver failed to negotiate a corner at Chigona Village due to overspeeding; resulting in the vehicle rolling several times.
8 of the survivors are currently receiving medical treatment at Neno District Hospital.
