50 Cent has been slammed over his social media posts following the death of Michael K. Williams.

The actor best known for his role in HBO’s The Wire was reported dead on Monday afternoon, September 6, after a suspected drug overdose. He was reportedly discovered unconscious in the dining room of his luxury Brooklyn penthouse with what appeared to be heroin on the kitchen table.

50 Cent then took to Instagram to share a screenshot of the New York Post article announcing Williams’ death, and in the caption told people to check out his show Raising Kanan to to see the dangers of Fentanyl overdoses.

He then went on to use the hashtags #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #bottlerover to promote his liquor brand.

In the now-deleted post, he wrote: “Damn if you didn’t see Raising Kanan check it out that fentanyl is no joke, killing the clientele. R.I.P Micheal (sic) k Williams.”

He also took to Twitter to post the screenshot of the article and joked about Williams’ death, adding: “New Caption alert. Hey jimmy ya man OD’ed” alongside a laughing emoji.

50 Cent’s beef with Michael K Williams has to do with the late actor’s connection to the rapper’s real-life nemesis James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond, who is a music executive.

After 50 Cent was called out for his posts following the death of the actor, he took down both the Instagram and Twitter posts then shared another IG post referencing why he’s rejoicing following the death of Michael K Williams.

He shared a flashback to an article showing him clashing with Williams. The story referenced Williams’ support of the jailed music executive, Jimmy, and 50 Cent going at him on social media.

50 Cent then wrote: “don’t ever try to understand me i’m different. I don’t do all the fake love sh*t”

Despite his explanation, people have continued to call him out.

“50 Cent is outta pocket too many times but because it’s him we let it slide. Using someone’s death to promote your show hours after it’s been announced is so wild. Cue the generic post and delete followed by a public apology within the next several hours.”
