Police in Lilongwe have arrested Chief Executive Officer for Lilongwe Handling Company (Lihaco) Alick Kasaila and nine others over alleged financial mismanagement, inside sources disclose.

Police Publicist James Kadadzera asked for more time on the matter and couldn’t divulge any information.

In February this year, Kasaila including acting operations director, Lyton Zinyemba and acting finance and administration director Eunice Kaipa were suspended over the financial mismanagement allegations that were under probe by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) blew the whistle on the alleged malpractices and reported the same to the ACB.
