KENYA – Police in Cheptais, Bungoma County have arrested a man following the death a 61-year-old woman who was electrocuted at his home on Tuesday morning.
The suspect identified as Cleophas Nyoka had unlawfully connected his barbed wire fence to electricity from his house, ostensibly to keep trespassers away.
According to the DCI, investigations revealed that the deceased; 61-year-old Emily Chekurkat, had gone to deliver milk to her neighbours when she was electrocuted.
“Chekurkat’s lifeless body was found by neighbours in the morning, bearing burns on both hands,” said the DCI.
The suspect is currently in custody pending arraignment to face appropriate charges.
