Two people have died on the spot and four others sustained injuries in a road accident at Nthandizi in Ntcheu when two vehicles collided head-on.
According to Ntcheu Police publicist, Hastings Chigalu, the head-on collision involved a Toyota Ractis and Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) Toyota Land cruiser.
The two deceased, a 32-year- old woman and a six-year-old child were in the Toyota Ractis.
“I am still gathering information but from what I have, the driver of the Toyota Ractis lost control of the vehicle and swerved to the Land Cruser’s lane which was coming from the opposite direction,” Chigalu said.
Ntcheu District Hospital public relations officer, Stella Kawalala confirmed that the four injured; two women, a man and a child have been admitted to Ntcheu District Hospital.
Lately, there has been a number of accidents in Ntcheu with 12 accidents happening in August alone, of which 10 were fatal.
Thirty-one people lost their lives as a result of the accidents.
