A heinous crime shook Mecca on Sunday afternoon, in which a father and a mother were stabbed to death by their son in the Sharia neighbourhood in the holy city, local media reported.

Police received a report from a girl stating that her brother was stabbing his father and mother. Security authorities rushed to the scene accompanied by the Saudi Red Crescent.

The mother, 62, was found coveredwith blood and the Red Crescent confirmed her death immediately, while the father,70, was admitted to King Faisal Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
