Son to Zambia’s founding father Kenneth Kaunda, Col. Panji Kaunda Retired has urged investigation wings to extend their investigations to the country’s past immediate president Edgar Chagwa Lungu not just those who served under him.

According to Kaunda, the former president cumulated a lot of wealth the time he has been Zambian president hence a need for him to be investigated as well.

He also added  that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) must also release the assets declarations by presidential candidates to help Zambians know the asset ratios accumulated over time.

“Everybody must be investigated, including me. If I am found wanting I should be investigated. The ECZ must release those figures because it’s the only way we are going to know what Lungu has 11 years ago and what he has now,” he said

Kaunda further added that it is the law and the right of the Zambians who are employers of the ones leading the country adding that they deserve to know.

Lungu ruled Zambia for six and lost in the August 12, 2021 general polls to opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema.
