Leader of opposition in parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa has paid back K4.1 million which he unduly benefited from the Covid response funds.
The parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has confirmed that Nankhumwa has repaid the money to the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19.
This follows pressure from the general public for justice to prevail on the massive plunder of the K6.2 billion Covid response funds.
President Lazarus Chakwera sanctioned the Auditor General to conduct an audit which exposed massive abuse of the Covid funds.
The public is demanding that those implicated in the plunder should repay the money and be prosecuted for fraud.
