Malawians especially supporters of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have hailed former Reserve Bank Governor Dalitso Kabambe for visiting well-known businessman Thom Mpinganjira at Chichiri Prison in Blantyre.

Mpinganjira is remanded at Chichiri Prison awaiting sentencing in case where he attempted to bribe five constitutional court Judges handling the presidential polls to rule in favour of former President Peter Mutharika.

On Thursday, Kambabe paid a brotherly love to Mpinganjira and he confirmed of the development through a facebook post.

Many Malawians including former Malawi’s Ambassador to Japan Dr. John James Chikago hailed Kabambe for the gesture.

“Ubale siutha ai. Pitani mukamuzondeko,” commented Chikago.

Concurring with Chikago’s remarks Macfalley Majanga wrote: “It’s nice to see each other in times like this. The problem is when you mix up issues. Thanks for not mixing up things. Big up.”

Another citizen Tim Mlera wrote: “God bless you. The easiest fashionable thing at the moment is to condemn Mr Mpinganjira the way we can. Very few would spare sometime to cheer him up at this very difficult time of his life.”

Kabambe is among four candidates vying for the post of Presidency in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Others include; DPP Vice President for Eastern Region Bright Msaka, Joseph Mwanamvekha and leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa.

The party is expected to hold elective conference in July 2023.
