LILONGWE – Minister of Homeland Security, Richard Chimwendo Banda has revealed that government has allocated K1.2 billion to the National Registrations Bureau (NRB) to employ 140 permanent staff and buy 20 new machines.
The new recruits will be deployed across the country ease the workload at the bureaus offices.
Speaking after touring NRB office in the Capital City, Banda also disclosed that about 3 million national identity cards are expected to expire this year.
But he stressed that beneficiaries of the Affordable Inputs Program whose IDs are expiring will be assisted.
