In yet another case of crime reported from Bihar, a woman alleged plotted the murder of her husband, so that she could marry her teenage lover, according to reports.

As per the case details, a man’s body was found on the outskirts of Bhairavnath village in Madhubani district’s Jhanjharpur block on September 15. Subsequent police efforts led to the identification of the deceased as Mohammad Mashook, a resident of the district’s Bhagwatipur village within the limits of Pandaul police station.

The police, during the investigation, came to know that Mashook’s wife, identified as Nasima Khatoon, and her 18-year-old cousin Mohammad Sonu were having an affair. It came to fore that Mashook and Nasima often argued over Sonu’s frequent visits to their house, according to a report by News18.

Subsequently, Nasima, a mother of three kids, was picked up for interrogation. She initially denied having a relationship with her cousin. However, she later admitted that she was having an extramarital affair with Sonu.

Nasima told the police she was subjected to physical and mental torture by her husband. Due to this, she got close to her cousin Sonu. She conspired with Sonu to eliminate her husband. “The duo wanted to murder the husband of the woman, so they planned to kill Mashook. Sonu with the help of three other friends killed Nasima’s husband… We have arrested Sonu, Mohammad Barkat, Md Ujair, and Md Ikram. Sonu’s friend told the police that first, they called Mashook to have drinks with them. After consuming alcohol they took Mashook near Mehant Pool and stabbed him to death,” the report quoted a police officer as saying.

The officer further stated that one of the accused, during questioning, stated that Nasima’s mother was also part of the conspiracy to eliminate the victim.
